| League of Legends was officially launched in both North America and Europe. The game featured 40 playable champions, automated matchmaking on Summoners Rift, and a basic tutorial on the Proving Grounds to introduce new players to the game. The Twisted Treeline – League of Legends premier 3v3 map – was available for play in custom games.
Now League of Legends is one of the most popular and most played free RTS games in the world. The game is completely free, with the option to cash for champions, skins, and IP (in game points)/exp boosts but all of which can be purchased with IP earned from winning or participating in matches.
